HEARNE, Tex. (KBTX) - The City of Hearne is helping with relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

City Manager John Naron says the city has reached an agreement for FEMA to have a staging area at the airport.

About 100 acres will be used to host RV's and mobile homes. The city expects their hotels to stay busy as well, with relief workers coming into town.

The staging area is expected to be there six months or longer. The plans, however, won't impact airport operations.
