Fall air lingers Wednesday, summer returns by week's end

OCTOBER 10th, 2017 -- Tuesday's cold front brought in the first real push of fall air to the Brazos Valley for the season. Enjoy it while you can, humidity & summer-like conditions are back before we reach the weekend.

Monday brought low 90° afternoon highs to the Brazos Valley -- roughly 10° above the seasonal average for early October. Tuesday's cold front dropped temperatures a solid 15° to 20° degrees across the area.

By Wednesday morning, Brazos Valley thermometers will drop to the lowest they have been since late May -- the 50s. After a light jacket morning, sunshine and mild afternoon are on the way.

Enjoy it -- it will not last long.

Thursday brings a southerly wind back, which means warmer & more humid air returning from the Gulf of Mexico. By Friday & Saturday, afternoon highs are expected to reach the low 90s. Once you factor in the humidity, heat index values may have it feeling more like the mid-to-upper 90s.

Next cold front is scheduled to arrive by early next week to right the ship once again. More details in the video above.
