BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - News3 Meteorologist Mack Morris was live at Carters Creek where 2018 has gotten off to a bit of a dry start in the Brazos Valley. Easterwood Airport has picked up only 1.78"since the start of the year which means we're nearly three and a half inches behind already as we enter the last week of February.
The good news? We have a chance to double that total over the next couple of days, and area creeks and tributaries like this dry Carter Creek bed here off Austin's Colony Parkway are a reminder of that lack of rainfall this year and for a better part of these last 3 months.
With the rain we're expecting, water levels could quickly go from very low, to well above average if rain falls quickly.
