Band information:
Seeing Big Joe Walker perform his bold brand of Texas Country music removes any curiosity one has about how he got his nickname. The man fills a room, from his football lineman physique to his voice, personality, command of a stage, and natural sense of humor. In recent years, the Dallas singer-songwriter has become a regular on Texas stages, touring with his fiery band. His debut single, “Friday Nights in Texas”, spent nine weeks on the Texas Regional Radio Report and the Texas Music Chart.

Big Joe expects his latest single, “Two Step”, to make a big impression on a big state – his latest addition to the melting pot that is the Texas Country music scene. “The song is about meeting someone that you're instantly drawn to,” said Walker. “I like to think of it as something you can sing to your partner on the dance floor – and hopefully you get another turn with her or him when it’s done.”

Just like the woman in the song, the chorus of “Two Step" may keep popping into your head once you’ve heard it. Walker will follow up the single with a full-length album, due in early August on Shiner Records.

“We called the album Something About Tonight, and we’re excited about where it’s taking my music,” said the gregarious African-American singer/guitarist/keyboardist, of a CD that gets to the essence of what his music is all about. “To know this album is to truly know me.”

James Hertless produced the cuts at his Hertlocker Studios in San Antonio. Fans can purchase the single immediately at most online music stores, including iTunes and Google Play. More details on the album will be released as it is finalized. It is the first full-length album of Walker’s career, following his EP, I Am Big Joe Walker.
