BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - For Free Music Friday, The Stark Brothers joined us in the KBTX Studios and performed "She Loves the Fire".
The Stark Brothers is a true, vocal duo of talented musicians, fronted by none other than Texas song-crafters, Josh Langston and Austin English. Taking a hiatus from the music industry after the passing of his father – the band's namesake – Langston has returned, in a way, to reignite the trail he started blazing over a decade ago. Langston is no stranger to success, having shared the stage with the likes of Ryan Bingham, Stoney LaRue, Billy Joe Shaver, The Great Divide, Wayne Mills, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Hayes Carll, Charlie Robison, Lee Brice, and Jamey Johnson – along with having his songs reach the heights of the Texas Music Chart and Texas Regional Radio Report, Roots Music Report, and Americana charts, as well as several fan voted music charts.
Austin, a 14-year veteran of the Texas Music scene, agreed to join the project almost two years ago, though a rigorous touring schedule and other personal projects kept this duo at bay, until now. He offers up smooth vocals and an authentic country sound on their first outing – a fresh take on the Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash classic, "There Ain't No Good Chain Gang".
With veteran musicians and the lyrical power of their songs, The Stark Brothers intend to electrify a genre that has, at times, steered away from its roots. Keep an eye peeled for their upcoming, full length record this fall.
