HUNTSVILLE, Tex. (KBTX) -- The City of Huntsville Splash Pad is closed after what officials said appeared to be a lightning strike.

Aquatics Manager Jay Miller said the strike must have happened during a storm back on Memorial Day. The splash pad has been closed since while they work to repair some computers and equipment.

Miller said he's hoping that everything is fixed by July 1st.

In a release, the city said they would send out updates as repairs are done. They mentioned the city pool is open and will be free on July 4th.
