Local company recalls frozen taquitos

LAMPASAS, Texas (KWTX) A Lampasas food production facility has recalled 35,000 pounds of frozen taquitos after inspectors found plastic and rubber debris inside some packages.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the products in question were produced on December 30, 2016.

Anyone who has purchased Josė Olė brand Taquitos beef carne de res in corn tortillas, crispy and crunchy, with case codes: 3366365A, 3366365B, 3366365C, 3366365D and a Best By date of Dec. 30, 2017.

Establishment number “Est. M-5590” also will appear on the labeling inside the USDA inspection mark.

The taquitos were shipped to retail stores in California, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wyoming.

Ajinomoto Windsor Inc., the manufacturer, was notified about the problem through consumer complaints, a company spokesman said.
