MADISONVILLE, Tex. (KBTX) - A Madisonville man has been arrested on several outstanding felony warrants.

Police say Travissance Smith, 40, was wanted on two counts of burglary, accident involving failure to stop and render aid, theft of property, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Officers were able to track Smith to a motel on East Main Street in Madisonville, but he refused to open the door. When officers gained entry into the room, Smith busted through a wall that was connected to a storage room and ran away from officers.

After a brief foot chase, with the help of a K9, Smith was taken into custody.

He now faces charges of evading and resisting arrest, as well as criminal mischief for the damage at the hotel.

Smith was booked into the Madison County Jail and is being held on $342,000 bond.
