Police release names of two killed on Highway 21 in Bryan

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - The following is an updated news release from Bryan police:

No charges have been filed at this time. This case is still under investigation.

Occupants of the Ford Pickup:

· Juan Vanegas, a 39-year-old male Bryan resident (deceased)

· Refugio Vanegas, a 79-year-old male Bryan resident (deceased)

· A third occupant, a 42-year-old male Bryan resident was transported to Chi St. Joseph’s Hospital. He is currently in critical but stable condition.

Previous news release from Bryan police:
On November 10, 2017 at approximately 6:45 am, Bryan police officers responded to a vehicle accident in the 2700 block of West State Highway 21.

A red 2002 Ford pickup was stopped in the driveway of a truck stop, waiting to enter traffic on Highway 21. A black Chevrolet pickup was travelling west on Highway 21.

The Chevrolet left the roadway and struck the driver’s side of the Ford. Impact caused the Ford to roll over, and come to a rest on its top. The Chevrolet came to a rest on its side.

Two male occupants of the Ford were found deceased at the scene. The two occupants of the Chevrolet received minor injuries.
