COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - A Kennard man was arrested for allegedly stealing a pizza delivery driver’s car in College Station.

Nolan Ray Hyatt, 24, is facing charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle along with driving while intoxicated. College Station Police said that they were called to the Domino’s Pizza in the 400 block of University Drive Sunday after a worker reported their work vehicle was stolen.

While an officer was heading to Domino’s, he saw a vehicle matching the description of the stolen one, along with the Domino’s car top sign, driving west of University Drive and Lincoln Avenue. The officer pulled the car over and identified Hyatt as the driver.

According to the police report, Hyatt said he was drinking at the Dixie Chicken and his friends left him there. He told police when he left the bar he saw the Domino’s delivery car and got inside through the front passenger door. Hyatt told police he thought it was an Uber as well. He said since the driver was taking too long, he got in the driver’s seat and left, saying there was a mutual understanding between him and the owner of the vehicle.

The Domino’s employee stated he’d never had a conversation or seen Hyatt before.

Hyatt was arrested and booked into the Brazos County Jail. His bond was set at a combined amount of $10,000.
