HUNTSVILLE, Tex. (KBTX) - A man accused of firing shots at a Huntsville police officer has been indicted by a Walker County grand jury.
Brandon McDaniel was indicted for aggravated assault on Wednesday.
Last November, he was pulled over, but he got out and ran towards a nearby apartment complex.
Police chased him and when officers got close, he reportedly shot at one of them.
McDaniel was arrested and booked into the Walker County Jail.
He was originally charged with attempted capital murder of a peace officer, but the Walker County District Attorney said aggravated assault was a stronger case against McDaniel.
He will also face charges of evading for running away from the traffic stop.
