HOUSTON, Tex. (KBTX) - Houston Police say they have found 6-week-old Shamali Flores in an area apartment.

The infant disappeared after her mother was stabbed to death in her Houston home on Tuesday. Police originally named the infant's father as a suspect, but he was later found in San Antonio.

Police say 28-year-old Erika Jisela Miranda-Alvarez was arrested this morning and charged with murder in the death of Carolina Flores. They say she had a miscarriage, but hid it from her boyfriend and continued to fake her pregnancy. She then killed Carolina Flores to take her baby and claimed it as her own.

Police say Alvarez was friends with Flores' brother and had been a friend of the family for several years.
