BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX)- A man accused of killing a College Station convenience store clerk is adding more charges to his record, after officials say he assaulted a Brazos County Detention Center employee.

Officials say Nathanael Tillery refused to comply with a health and safety check Sunday afternoon at the Brazos County Jail.

When officers tried to take Tillery back to his cell, they say he grabbed the deputy by the neck and forced his head into a table.

The officer suffered some redness and swelling to his head.

According to incident report, this is not the first time Tillery has assaulted this particular officer, and this now marks the third time he's been accused of attacking guards since he's been locked up.

Tillery is due for a pre-trial hearing later this month, related to the March 2015 murder of Kevin Garcia.
