Navasota churches come together for food drive

NAVASOTA, Tex. (KBTX) - Three Navasota churches came together for a good cause Saturday.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, First United Methodist, and First Presbyterian Churches hosted a food drive to support the Navasota Christian Community Service Center.

The local food pantry is in need of donations this summer.

"We found out the food pantry is low on supplies for the summer and Grimes County has such a high rate of public dependency and poverty rate, that we felt like we could help. A lot of our people depend on the food pantry, " explained Rev. Dr. Cindy Engle, St. Paul's Episcopal Church Rector.

The churches hope to have another food drive in the future.
