BEDIAS, Tex. (KBTX) - A man is facing charges after a shooting at a home in Bedias early Friday morning.
The Grimes County Sheriff's Office says Brandt Jamail, 46, is being charged with deadly conduct.
Deputies arrived at the house around 12:30 a.m. Friday and found a victim who had been shot in the arm. Jamail initially refused to leave the residence, but finally surrendered once the Grimes County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team arrived, according to the sheriff's office.
According to investigators, Jamail is the victim's brother-in-law.
Jamail was taken to the Grimes County Jail where he was interviewed and confessed to shooting in the general direction of the victim to scare him over a recent altercation over narcotics, according to a press release.
Jamail later posted bail.
Authorities say this is not the first incident that Jamail has been in trouble with the law. In May, he was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
