BRYAN (KBTX) - After a brief taste of what ought to be February temperatures, we're already on our way back to muggy as of Friday morning. We'll keep that muggy feel, cloudiness, and warmth through at least Saturday before things start to change a little bit.
This weekend will be unseasonable. You won't need a jacket, but an umbrella won't be the worst idea. We'll have plenty of moisture to work with, but with cloud cover and no real upper level support, any rain that does fall will likely be light and isolated to scattered at best.
Models tend to agree that through Sunday night, most of us will receive no rain to about a tenth of an inch. Isolated amounts of a quarter inch to more will be possible with a thunderstorm on Sunday.
Otherwise, pack the short sleeves for now! We'll still wait on our bigger chance of rain next week.
About next week...
We've been eyeing a storm system out west that will make landfall this weekend, and once it does, we'll have a better idea of timing with our big rain chances next week. At the moment, Tuesday still looks to be our best day at widespread, soaking rains. Stay tuned as we fine tune that forecast.
