Bryan PD have obtained an arrest warrant in homicide investigation

There is a police presence on April Bloom near Spring Loop Drive related to the shooting that occurred Thursday morning.

The Bryan Police Department Criminal Investigation Division has obtained an arrest warrant on William Thomas Currie III, age 35 of Bryan, for the shooting death of Carlos Mar.

William Thomas Currie III is to be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has information on his whereabouts they are asked to call 979-361-3888 or Crime Stoppers at 979-775-TIPS.

The Bryan police have been investigating this homicide since early Thursday morning, after Mar's body was found in the parking lot of Citi Trends on Post Office Street.

Authorities said they were called to the 2300 block of S. Texas Avenue around 4:45 a.m. for a report of a person down. When officers arrived, they found a man dead in the parking lot from a possible gun shot wound. Bryan PD later confirmed that it was indeed the body of Carlos Mar, 30, of Bryan.

Post Office St from Texas Ave. to Cavitt Street and adjacent parking lots are closed to the public. We advise motorist to avoid the area.
