Strong cold front bringing rain and cooler temperatures

BRYAN, Tex. - We're just a few short days away from Christmas and the weather will certainly feel a bit more like the holidays.

Major changes arrive today

Winter is about to make its presence felt. Temperatures will plummet behind a cold front, going from the 70s this morning, to the 40s and 50s by this afternoon and evening.

A cold front is already pushing through the region late this morning with scattered rain and storms, but the main impact will be big temperature changes.

In addition to a big swing in temperatures, we could get a couple of stronger storms this afternoon, with gusty wind, small hail, and maybe an isolated tornado. Chances for severe storms look rather slim though.

Rain chances look best from noon to 6 p.m. After that, rain chances should begin to wane as this cold front and storm system move away from the Brazos Valley.
