OCTOBER 6, 2017 -- Tropical storm -- and soon to be hurricane -- Nate is the big weather story of the weekend. As that tropical system moves toward the Gulf Coast States, increased heat & humidity is the theme for the Brazos Valley.
After drier air reached the area Friday, Gulf moisture is expected to make a comeback through the day Saturday as Nate moves north through the Gulf of Mexico. By afternoon, a mix of high & low level clouds are expected to stream overhead along with a small, 10% chance at scattered rain across the Southeastern Brazos Valley.
To the north, a cold front will come close to the area, but will not have the gas to swing through. Instead, we'll find afternoon highs in the low 90s and feels like conditions in the mid-90s.
A taste of more seasonable air is slated to reach the Brazos Valley, but that cool down is not expected until the middle of next week.
