Cadet Golf Classic & Patriot Dinner benefits kids of fallen military personnel

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- Miramont Country Club will host the 2nd annual Cadet Golf Tournament and Patriot Dinner benefits two groups of young people. Money raised will go towards the financial assistance program at Allen Academy, and to Folds of Honor scholarships for kids of military personnel who have been disabled or who's parents lost their lives while serving our country.

Registration for the golf tournament is sold out, however tickets are still available for the Patriot Dinner on April 29th. During that dinner, patriotism will be on full display.

During last year's event, former Texas A&M football player Mark Dodge shared his story about being at the Pentagon during 9-11.

This year the speaker will be Ginger Gilbert Ravella. Her Air Force fighter pilot husband, Major Troy Gilbert, was killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom, while saving the lives of over 20 Special Operations soldiers.

"Her story was featured in Time Magazine. It was on Fox News and Friends amongst many others. Just a very compelling story of patriotism and she is also a Folds of Honor recipient. It's really a neat dinner that is all about Patriotism and service before self," said Miramont Country Club General Manager Aaron Dawson.
