We have some special surprises in store for Brazos Valley This Morning.
As we go through old footage, vintage commercials are catching our eye. One such ad is for City National Bank, airing in 1978, almost 40-years ago. It was to air a :60-second commercial. On this Throwback Thursday, let’s go back to the late 70’s.
Gotta love the bean bags, hair styles, the cars and trucks driving down Texas, the romantic shot of the hands on top of each other for the soon to be married couple. Be in touch if you recognize people in that commercial.
Let’s do one more for today – Chapman Paint and Wallpaper – also from 1978.
As read by the golden tones of Ulman McMullen, still a visitor now and then to KBTX.
Congratulations to Coach Gary Blair, Celia Goode-Haddock and the Larry Hodges. All were honored at the Community Foundation Luncheon for what they have done and continue to do for this community. It was an honor to once again serve as emcee of this event – and extra special because of the personal relationship I’ve enjoyed with these three incredible people. Well-deserved for three special people.
And thanks to Ann Ganter and her team who organized the Steakout benefitting Scotty’s house. I also had the opportunity to emcee that event, and I thank you for including me, as hundred turned out to support one of the most incredible non-profits in our region, Scotty’s House.
We live in a special place, and as KBTX, we’re honored to call this region our home. Be in touch anytime, your opinion matters to this family of KBTX News 3.
