BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - KBTX recently experienced a jittery picture, pixelating – I believe is the right term. This was only to satellite customers, Direct or Dish subscribers.
And – part of this occurred during premiere week on CBS. There is never a good time for this – just like a crown coming off on Thanksgiving night, or almost always on a Friday evening.
Those types of things happen at inopportune times.
S-C sent this note:
“I missed all the season premieres of NCIS, Bull and NCIS New Orleans due to what was apparently an issue with either KBTX or CBS. Are these shows going to be reshown? I can't find any info on repeats.”
First, these shows will not be re-shown, and the issue was not with KBTX or CBS. A fiber was cut around Milano which takes our signal to the Direct and Dish head ends north off Highway 79 in Milam county. Our signal goes from here, to Georgetown, sometimes to Dallas and back to Waco. All was fine with all cable systems in the area and from our tower in Carlos. We do apologize for the inconvenience though – there was nothing we could do about it!
In this day and time, there are a lot of opinions on issues related to standing, kneeling or locking arms during the national anthem.
R-D sent this note to Rusty Surette and me:
I’m really disturbed by recent news and you’ve been elected to hear my thought of the day. Disrespecting our national anthem, our flag or the pledge of allegiance is no different than burning your only home. While the home may need repairs or updates, it sheltered you in stormy weather and provided the framework for improvements.
I could go on writing but it could easily prompt some of these disrespectful folks to literally burn me out of house and home.
Smart person there, R-D. It is difficult these days to share an opinion. Most of the time, people don’t just disagree and move forward. They also like to punish you for not believing as they do. Happens to me, happens to KBTX all the time. Sad deal.
Finally, this from B-B about a recent newscast:
F-G, nothing more to add. This staff is involved in the community every week at any number of events, and are certainly appreciated for what they do on-air for KBTX. Thanks for making our day.
Your weekend anchor just now had to editorialize on TRUMP saying he “chose” to turn his attention to defending himself – YOUR staff is not qualified to make that kind of statement and LOCAL news should stay away from that kind of crap altogether – Murders, police custody deaths, there is lots they can weigh in on that hopefully they could appear a little more intelligent.
After responding and mentioning I was out of town and would check it later, comes this note from B-B in reply:
OMG – I am so sorry – I always watch you and was so surprised – but your channel did not start right at 6 and I switched to another channel – so sorry and that’s what I expect from them – Apologies. Gig’em.
Always does my heart good to know – that’s not my goal. It is our hope that in all political climates, we are flexible, accurate, and work at a higher degree of integrity.
At least – that will always be our intent, and for that, I will never apologize. Be in touch anytime. Your opinion matters to this family of KBTX News 3.
