Three gas stations raided for operating illegal gambling machines

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - The Bryan Police Department raided three different gas stations on Thursday. Four people were arrested for intentionally using illegal gambling machines and paying out the winnings with cash.

'Circle P' on Villa Maria, the Highway 21 Truck Stop, and Oaks Food Mart on 29th Street were raided for owning and operating illegal 8-Linear slot machines. Dhavalkumar Patel, Clara Rozario, Adnan Anwar and Sedra Anwar were all taken into custody for the same charges.

According to probable cause statements, investigators received information that several convenience stores in the Bryan had illegal gambling machines as early as August.

Undercover investigators recorded gambling on the slot machines multiple times at all three locations, and players receiving cash prizes as their winnings.
