Transitioning back to school in a healthy way

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - Summer is almost over and parents are preparing for the upcoming school year. Dr. Kathryn Greiner with Baylor Scott and White appeared on BVTM to talk about how to get kids ready.

"I think one huge thing to keep in mind is that you're going from care-free summer time to a regimented school year," Dr. Greiner said. "If you can start working on bedtime now, that makes a huge difference. If you've been kind of lax with bedtime, start moving that back by 15 minutes every night."

Dr. Greiner went on to discuss meal preps, homework planning and keeping mornings as stress-free as possible.

"About 12 hours before you need to leave the house is about the time that they need to start getting in the shower and setting up their nighttime routine."
