FRANKLIN, Tex. (KBTX) - Robertson County Care, Inc., also known as the Franklin Food Pantry, held an open house and dedication on Thursday for its new building in Franklin.

The grand opening is the realization of a dream come true for the organization which has been operating for the past 20 years in a donated house trailer.

Last February, the organization began fundraising to collect almost $200,000 to construct the building.

The project was supported by the Franklin community, area churches, 12 of whom serve on a rotating basis to distribute groceries, local businesses, corporate donors and individuals.

The food pantry serves about 2,000 people a year within the Franklin ISD.
