Tropical Depression Fourteen forms in the Atlantic, likely a tropical storm soon

Tropical Depression Fourteen has formed in the far east Atlantic

As of 10pm (CDT) the National Hurricane Center started issuing advisories for this latest tropical depression. At the hour, the storm located 5000 miles away from Bryan / College Station had satellite estimated winds sustained at 35mph.

The official forecast calls for TD Fourteen to strengthen into the 12th named storm of the season -- Tropical Storm Lee. This first advisory forecasts out to Tuesday morning, where the system is expected to remain as a tropical storm.

Just to the west of TD Fourteen is another tropical wave with an 80% chance of development over the next 5 days. This will likely become the 13th named storm -- Maria -- over the weekend.
