A Brazos County grand jury has indicted two people in the September murder of 19-year-old Johnathon Munoz.
Both 18-year-old Saul Suarez and 17-year-old Adriana Garcia were indicted for murder. Saul Suarez was also indicted for possessing a prohibited weapon.
According to police reports, the September 8 murder stemmed from a robbery. Police say Suarez, Garcia and a 16-year-old planned to rob Munoz of the marijuana he was selling. Police say that minor initiated the gunfight.
Cellphone records show minutes before his death, Munoz was texting with the teenager about the drug deal. The teen was also shot in his arm during the gunfight.
Police believe the 16-year-old planned the robbery so he could turn around and sell the marijuana.
