COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - The Texas Department of Transportation is delaying roadwork at the intersection of FM 2818 and FM 60 until the weather warms up.
According to TxDOT, temperatures overnight will be too cold to lay asphalt. They are also aware that students are returning to Texas A&M University. TxDOT said they will be working with the Texas Transportation Institute on finding a window that will have the least impact on drivers.
When roadwork does begin, it will be in two phases.
Phase one will consist of a lane closures over a 2-3 day window. During this phase, there will be one lane open on FM 60 in each direction.
Phase two will last three months. During this phase, the long exit and entrance ramps to and from FM 2818 will be closed. All turning movements will have to go through “t-intersections”. These are the shorter ramps that dump directly on to FM 60.
See the attached image for which ramps will be closed and open during Phase two. The orange ramps will be closed. The yellow ramp will be open.
