OCTOBER 26th, 2017 -- An unusually strong cold front -- for October -- arrives in the Brazos Valley Friday morning. Temperatures better suited for mid-to-late December arrive to start the weekend.
Brisk to blustery north winds kick up 15-25mph, gusting 30mph at times Friday. That will effectively drop temperatures to the low / mid 50s early in the morning. Even with sunshine returning, it will be a struggle to reach the low 60s Friday afternoon. Of course, with the wind it will feel like the 50s at best.
Falling all the way to the 30s by Saturday morning, and again Sunday. While a freeze is not anticipated, a frost is not ruled out either morning. Saturday brings highs in the low 60s (feeling like the 50s), Sunday kicks back a southwest wind nudging thermometers back to the low 70s to cap off the weekend.
