WALKER COUNTY, Tex. (KBTX) The Walker County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man who they say was stabbed in the chest by his on-and-off girlfriend.

Celinda Claus, 45, is in the Walker County jail after the sheriff's office says she confessed to the crime.

The incident happened Saturday, February 11th at approximately 3:45 a.m. near the 1000 block of FM 247.

When law enforcement arrived they found Andrew Peavy, 46, dead.

Claus initially told law enforcement earlier that day, they had been drinking alcohol which led to an argument and that Peavy had stabbed himself.

However, following an investigation, evidence indicated that it was highly unlikely that the wound was self-inflicted.

Claus is in custody on a $150,000 bond.
