15 Brazos Valley players earn all-state honors in baseball and softball

The Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association released it's All-State squad and six Brazos Valley players made the cut.

College station pitcher Travis Hester is a third-team all-state selection in class 5A.

Two Brenham Cubs are all-state in 5A. Catcher Pierce Weiss and shortstop Jake Olsen are on the 2nd team.

Rudder's Hunter Dobbins was selected to the 5A-6A All-Star game and will play for the South team against the North at Dell Diamond on June 16. Madisonville's Zach Poe and Giddings Shelby Becker will play for the South in the 4A-3A-2A All-Star game.

In 4A a pair of Madisonville Mustangs are named all-state: TCU bound pitcher Matt Rudis is on the second team while future Aggie golfer Sam Bennett is the shortstop on the third team.

Burton freshman Cash Callahan is 2nd team all-state in class 2A.

All-State honors have been handed out in softball as well by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

College Station pitcher Hailey Hudson is on the 5A all-state squad.

In 2A three Normangee Panthers make the list.

Senior first baseman Lexi Harris, who hit .724 this year.

Senior Ashly Teran, who hit .690 as a outfielder and went 12-1 as a pitcher, and Maci Sanders, the junior shortstop hit .573.

Brenham first baseman Kathryn Marshall also makes all-state in class 5A, as does Milano pitcher Jenna Lewis in class 2A.
