A&M Consolidated and Rudder fighting for playoff spot

BRYAN, Texas -- The A&M Consolidated football team will face Rudder Friday night in a District 18-5A game at Merrill Green Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.

If A&M Consolidated wins the Tigers will clinch a playoff spot. Rudder has to beat Consol by four points or more to make the post season for the first time in school history.

Consol head coach Lee Fedora and Rudder head coach Greg Morgan have faced each other in the past when Fedora was at Navasota and Morgan was at Madisonville. Their first meeting in the Consol vs Rudder series should be a good one. Morgan said, "It's going to be a great high school game. They are going to bring their best to solidify their spot in the playoffs and we're going to be fighting and scratching trying to solidify a spot for us so it ought to be a whale of a game."

Fedora knows his team will face a challenge Friday night against a Rangers squad that has some momentum. Fedora said, "They've won their last two games and they know this is a big game for them so it's like we tell our guys each and every week, we're not worried about our opponent we're worried about how we play and we have to go out and be focused, but this is a big game for both teams and we are excited about it."

Friday will be the fourth meeting between the two schools. A&M Consolidated leads the series 3-0 and has scored at least 57 points in all three games against the Rangers.
