A&M Consolidated headed to state capital Friday to battle Austin High Maroons

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- Lee Fedora and his A&M Consolidated Tigers (2-0) are still unbeaten on the young season after a 52-47 shootout win over Magnolia last week on the road and Friday night will head to Austin to take on the Maroons (1-1).

The Tigers are continuing to search for improvement as they get ready for their District 18-5A opener in two weeks.

Coach Fedora was pleased the team showed improvement from their season opening victory over Copperas Cove (34-14) and are reaching more weekly goals.

"I think we got a lot of things fixed that we made mistakes in week one," said Fedora.

"We go by a goal board that we are always trying aim for. We've got six goals on offense, six on defense and six on special teams that we try to get. In our first week in our first game on offense we got 2 of those goals, this week we got 5 of them. I told the kids once we put all three phases together and we are getting all those goals we've got a chance, but right now our main goal is to get that 'W' and that is what they were able to do," concluded the first year A&M Consolidated Head Coach.

Friday's game will kick off at 7:30 at Austin ISD's House Park Stadium located at 1301 Shoal Creek Boulevard.
