A&M Consolidated to battle Hutto in Area Round Friday

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers (9-2) will take on Hutto (10-1) Friday night in the Class 5A Division II playoffs.

The Tigers are coming off a conviencing 35-7 win over Whitehouse last week at Bowers Stadium in Huntsville.

The Hippos topped Brenham 33-21 up at Merrill Green behnind the arm of quarterback Chase Griffin who threw 3 touchdown passes in Hutto's playoff opening victory.

"He's got a great arm. He can throw the ball around. He's thrown for over 3500 yards already and I think only 1 interception so he makes good decisions," said A&M Consolidated Head Football Coach Lee Fedora.

"We've got to be prepared. When he sees what you are giving him on defense he can throw the ball around so we've working hard on that this week to be able to stop the passing game," concluded Fedora.

Griffin got his season started against Bryan in a 54-14 win over the Vikings.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 at Waller ISD Stadium.
