HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros have claimed left-handed pitcher Buddy Boshers off of waivers from the Minnesota Twins. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.
Boshers, 29, went 1-0 with a 4.89 ERA (19ER/35IP) in 38 relief appearances across four Major League stints for the Twins last season. Working against left-handed hitters, Boshers allowed a .224 opponent batting average (13x58) and a .258 on-base percentage. He’s pitched in parts of three Major League seasons, making 100 career appearances with the Twins (2016-17) and Angels (2013). He was designated for assignment by the Twins on Jan. 15.
With the addition of Boshers, the Astros 40-man roster now stands at 39 players.
