NORTH ZULCH, Texas - Classroom Champions, presented by American Momentum Bank.

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion, Andi McWhorter. The North Zulch High School Senior has a 3.8 GPA, and is currently ranked 2nd in her class.

Lori Thompson – Teacher
“Well her work ethic has helped her a lot, because she does her work first and then fun time is after. She doesn't play around in the classroom..She's serious in the classroom just like she is on the court and in the field and everywhere else. She's very focused on the task at hand. So that helps he balance things out.”

Andi is a member of the North Zulch Lady Bulldog volleyball, tennis, and track teams. In volleyball, she has been a 3-Time Offensive Player of the Year selection, and a State Semifinalist. Last year in track, Andi and her team won State in the 4x400 relay, and she also made it to Regionals in Tennis the past three years. Outside of sports, Andi is a member of FFA (Future Farmers of America), FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), the Beta Club, and the National Honor Society.

Marshall Earnhart – AD/Head Track Coach
“Andi is a girl that leads by example. She's that kid that's a coaches dream. She's coachable. She wants to stay late. She wants to work hard. She wants to be the best at whatever she does. Always got a smile on her face, and the only time she doesn't have a smile is when she's in competition. And that's when she puts that game face on and that just ready to let's get it on kind of attitude.”

Andi McWhorter - Student
“A leader by example; because it's hard for me to explain. I just kind of like follow me, follow what I do instead of let me teach you wha to do. I think having a strong work ethic will benefit my future by teaching me how to be a leader, and growing successful.”

After High School, Andi plans on attending Sam Houston State University, and she's currently undecided on a major.

Congratulations to Andi McWhorter of North Zulch High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
