Courtney Smith – Teacher
“She just wants to get the most out of each opportunity that she has. And so, she really applies herself and pushes herself to improve upon her weaknesses and maximize her strengths. Because she wants be prepared and ready for that next level, which for her is definitely college. And so she's just trying to get the most out of her education that she possibly can.”

Darryl Bruffett
Maggie is a member of the volleyball, basketball and track teams for the Lady Bulldogs. In volleyball Maggie is a 2-Time State Champion and has been an Academic All-District selection as well. Outside of sports, Maggie is the Vice President of her Class, a member of the National Honor Society, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), FCCLA, UIL, Crime Stoppers, the Student Council and the Yearbook staff. Group. And for her efforts in UIL, she won 1st place in her district for headline writing.

Jamie McDougald - Coach
“She in practice is one of our hardest workers, and in the classroom she's one of our hardest workers. She constantly stresses about her grades; and therefore she's the leader on our team, and has the best grades in her class. She was thrown in there as a sophomore kind of unexpectedly and did a great job. She was put in pressure situations like serving match point at a regional tournament and at three state tournament. You know we were down match point three times and she just came through with shining colors.”

Maggie Webb - Student
“Being involved in like so many things in school and volleyball can be really stressful. But I think I have a bunch of friends, and like my coaches, they all help me out and make sure I'm taking care of school work or anything that needs to be done. Both of my parents encourage me to work really hard. I could make a “B” but they know I could do better and they expect more. So I try to do better. And then Miss always encourages me to do my best, and I look up to her a lot, so I try to do the best that I can for her.”

After High School, Maggie plans on attending college and majoring in Nursing. In hopes to one day become a neonatal nurse.

Congratulations to Maggie Webb of Iola High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
