“Sara's very good at handling pressure. Being active both in class and in the athletic endeavors that she does. When she's gone from school shes always one to make sure that she keeps up with her studies, And comes in ahead of time and asks for her assignments, and is very good about seeking help when she needs it.”

Darryl Bruffett
Sara is a member of the basketball and softball teams for the Lady Tigers. In basketball, Sara has been a 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All-Academic selection. She's also been her team's Offensive MVP as well as a 1st Team All-Academic selection in softball. Outside of sports, Sara is a member of the National Honor Society, FCS (Fellowship of Christian Students), FCC (Future Chamber of Commerce), and the Leon County Youth Board. And for her hard work in the classroom she was awarded the Presidents Education Award.

Casey Despain - Coach
“She's a big team player. She's not selfish at all; even though being a point guard sometimes you have to be in...Sometimes we tell her you have to be selfish at this point during the game. But I think that's probably one of the biggest thing that sets her apart is she is a 100 percent team player!”

Sara Stutzman - Student
“I know whenever I was growing up, I had role models that were in high school and I would always come to their games and watch. And I think that watching them work hard and stuff. It made me want to be more like them and so whenever I'm up here working hard. I think about the people that might be watching me and the younger kids that might be watching me. And I just want them to want to work as hard as me, so be a good example for them.”

After High School, Sara plans on attending the University of Houston and majoring in Speech Pathology and Audiology.

Congratulations to Sara Stutzman of Centerville High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
