CAMERON, Texas - Classroom Champions, presented by American Momentum Bank.

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion, Savannah Kruse. The Yoe High School Senior has a 4.0 GPA, and is currently ranked fourth in her class.

Kevin Webb - Teacher
“Savannah Kruse is a student that you would want in your class every year, two or three times a day. She's a conscientious young lady; great sense of humor. A lot of people don't know that about her I'm afraid, but she's a well rounded student, and those are the kind of students teachers and coaches love.”

Savannah is a member of the Lady Yoe volleyball and soccer teams. In volleyball, she has been a 1st Team All-District and a 1st Team Academic All-District selection the past two seasons. Outside of sports, Savannah is involved in the National Honor Society, the Bell Brigade, One Act Play, the Milam Community Theater, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). In 2014 and 2016, Savannah was a 1st place winner of the Voice of Democracy Award.

Laura Dickson - Coach
“A characteristic of Savannah would be determination. She's determined to excel at whatever she's doing and seeing that determination where she's you know pushing to be a college volleyball player. And during volleyball season she would stay after practice in the weight room and do extra weight work. So she goes above and beyond anything we've asked her to do.”

Savannah Kruse - Student
“I'm a person of very few words so I feel like I'm definitely a lead by example kind of person. I think its easier for me to demonstrate through actions than by words. I think that training myself to take care of my academics first; like before games, after games. Will transfer over well into the college setting because I'll be doing the same thing there.”

After High School, Savannah will attend Texas Lutheran University in Seguin. Where she will continue her volleyball career and study Nursing.

Congratulations to Savannah Kruse of Cameron Yoe High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
