Kimberley Olson – Teacher
“Skylar's classmates work well with her as a leader. Whenever she works I group projects in my classroom the other students don't mind being her partner. And working along with her to get things completed. I think she's also a good leader on her athletic teams...That she works hard and others follow her by example.
Skylar is a member of the volleyball, basketball, softball, and tennis teams for the Lady Tigers. In Skylar has several accolades in sports....For her efforts in basketball, volleyball, and softball she's been an Academic All-District selection. Outside of sports, Skylar is a member of the National Honor Society, FFA (Future Farmers of America), 4-H, the American Angus Association and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Junior Rodeo Committee.
Nathan White - Coach
“Her first step is leading by example. She will lead vocally if I ask her to, but she usually tries to dictate what we do by showing the girls what we want done. In demonstrations and through her actions. They respond well. When she gets us going for pr-game warm up or coming out of halftime. They follow along right with the emotion that she carries into the game.”
Skylar Hoffpauir - Student
“Doing sports and then doing a college class, or being homecoming queen, or doing anything else for the school. It's just all about time management. You just need to organize and organize and be responsible with everything that you take on. You just need to know what you can handle and what you can't handle.”
After High School, Skylar plans on attending Texas A&M University and majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries, in hopes to one day become a marine biologist.
Congratulations to Skylar Hoffpauir of Bremond High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
