LOVELADY, Texas - Classroom Champions, presented by American Momentum Bank.

News 3 Sports would like to congratulate our latest Classroom Champion, Sydney Price. The Lovelady High School Senior has a 4.81 GPA, and is currently ranked second in her class.

Carol Monk - Teacher
“She handles all of her obligations impeccably. She can walk out onto that court; get stuff done. Walk into the classroom, make that happen, and then turns around and is involved in many organizations and activities outside of the classroom and our community. And still seems to organize time to study and be well represented in the community.”

Sydney is a member of the Lady Lion volleyball and softball teams. In volleyball, she has been named the Best Server and Best Co-Setter in her district. And in softball, Sydney was named New Comer of the Year (in 2014) and Defensive Player of the District (last season) as a shortstop. Outside of sports, Sydney is involved in the National Honor Society, FCCLA, UIL, and the One Act Play. Sydney also serves as a Camp Counselor and is very active in her community.

James Price - Coach
“The way we tried to raise her was; if your going to do something you might as well do it right the first time. Not maybe right the firs time, but give it everything you got every time. Because it's a waste if you don't. And she see's that, and we want her to be like that ad so she expects others to be like that.”

Sydney Price - Student
“My dads always been a coach and I've witnessed that, and it's sort of rubbed off on me I guess you could say. It just kind of comes natural to want to set an example for my teammates and have the instinct that whenever something is going wrong. I wan to try my best to help my teammates out and fix whatever the issue is.”

After High School, Sydney will attend Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, and will major in Biology. In hopes to one day became a Pediatric Physical Therapist.

Congratulations to Sydney Price of Lovelady High School. This week’s News 3 Sports Classroom Champion!
