Clemson at A&M game was a big ratings win for ESPN

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- ESPN announced Tuesday the Clemson and Texas A&M matchup at Kyle Field drew an estimated 4,486,000 viewers, the most-watched game on any television network.

It was cable's second-most watched Saturday game since November 2016 and was up 33% from ESPN's similar window last year. Viewership peaked at nearly 6-million, the sports network reports.

The network's highest ratings came from Birmingham, Alabama.

Austin came in 4th place, and Dallas-Fort Worth came in 6th place, followed by San Antonio and Houston.

Ratings for ESPN's College Football GameDay preview show from outside Kyle Field Saturday morning were up 17% from week 2 last season, when the show was in Columbus before Oklahoma-Ohio State.
