College Station gets past Bryan in 18-5A girls soccer

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The CSHS Lady Cougar soccer team took on the Lady Vikings of Bryan Tuesday night at Cougar field in an 18-5A matchup. The Lady Vikings got on the board at the 30:19 mark of the first half. The Lady Cougars evened the score at the 27:28 mark when Olivia Riechman's shot rebounded off of a Bryan defender to Kayla Vasquez, who put in the rebound. With 13:38 left in the match, Vasquez won the ball in the Cougars defensive half and connected with Lauren Puckett. Puckett's long pass found Carley Deuel on the far right side, Deuel quickly found Kate Hinckley. Hinckley beat a Bryan defender before connecting with Riechman whose shot beat the Viking goalie high and just inside the post. Next action for the Cougars (10-1-2, 3-0) will be Friday against Rudder at Rudder High School.

In subvarsity action, the Cougars were victorious 8-0 over the Lady Vikings. Scorers were Reese Garratt, Elisabeth Leftwich, Macy Nugent, Olivia Fox, Caitlyn Bachmann (2), and Karisa Winkleman (2).
