JEWETT, Texas (KBTX) -- Leon High School is looking for a new volleyball coach.

The Leon Independent school district bought out the final year of Jason Evans contract.

Evans told The Eagle, "to be honest, there were about four or five mommas whose kids didn't get to play who went to school board members. I just didn't feel like i had a whole lot of support of the school board."

In nine seasons at Leon Evans won two state titles and took the Cougars to the state tournament six teams.

He had a record of 383-34 at Leon and never lost a district match with the Cougars.
