BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The College Station Lady Cougar soccer team defeated the Rudder Rangers 5-0 Friday night at Rudder High School.

The Lady Cougars got the scoring started in the 30th minute. Lauren Barrett passed through the gap to Hailey Daniel who slid the ball under the Rudder goalie for a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, Daniel found Olivia Riechman out wide, and Riechman beat two defenders before firing a low shot just out of the reach of the diving Ranger goalie to put the Cougs up 2-0.

Next, Kate Hinckley and Morgan Green worked a nice combination down the right side. Green's cross into the box found Riechman, whose first time volley put the Cougs up 3-0. Riechman scored again when she put in a rebound off a shot by Hinckley. The Cougs entered the half up 4-0.

With 6:23 left in the second half, Daniel scored her second goal to end the scoring. Hailey Wilton recorded the shutout for the Cougars. The victory improves College Station's record to 4-0 in district and 11-1-2 overall.

In JV action, the Lady Cougars won the match 8-0 off of four goals from Carisa Winkleman, 2 goals from Reese Garrett, and 2 goals from Olivia Fox. The Lady Cougar JV squad is now 4-0 in district.

The Lady Cougars will return to action Tuesday against Waco at 7 PM.
