BRYAN, Texas -- More than 400 golfers recently participated in the “Play Hooky for Harvey” fundraising event at Miramont Country Club, and thanks to the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Don and Donna Adam, The Adam Corporation/Group and American Momentum Bank, a check for $153,625 will be presented to One America Appeal (www.oneamericaappeal.org) on Tuesday, November 28 at Miramont.

The golf fundraiser, which allowed the public to play at Miramont for $125 per person from Monday, October 30 through Thursday, November 2, raised $53,625. The Adam Corporation and American Momentum Bank originally pledged to match the funds raised through the golf initiative, but Mr. and Mrs. Adam were so impressed by the response of the community that the couple increased the contribution to $100,000. As a result, the fundraiser contributed a total of $153,625 to the fund assisting families in need after Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Senior Vice President of The Adam of Corporation Stephanie Malechek, American Momentum Bank Market President Frank Varisco and Miramont General Manager Aaron Dawson will present a check, in honor of One America Appeal, to David B. Jones, the Chief Executive Officer of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation on Tuesday, November 28 at 5 p.m. in the Miramont Lobby. Coordinated by the George H. Bush Presidential Library Foundation located in College Station, the mission of One America Appeal is to aid victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Hurricane Irma in Florida.

“We were thrilled by the response we received from participants who wanted to play Miramont,” Dawson said. “Participants came from throughout the community and across the state, and we offer our sincere thanks to all who played. Further, I was practically speechless when Mr. and Mrs. Adam let me know that they planned on donating $100,000 through their companies. The Adam family truly has a heart of gold.”

Hurricane Harvey, which came ashore on August 25, was the most powerful hurricane to hit Texas in more than 50 years. Hurricane Irma, which hit Florida on September 10, was the most intense Atlantic hurricane to strike the United States since Katrina.

The Adam Corporation has businesses in Texas and Florida and identified One American Appeal as the charitable organization in which to direct its relief efforts. One American Appeal is a joint appeal by all five living former American Presidents (Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama), encouraging citizens to support Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma recovery efforts in both Texas and Florida.

The Adam Corporation/Group, headquartered in College Station, is home to operating companies in the financial services, hospitality, real estate development, commercial construction, insurance services, and marble and granite industries.
