Rockdale wins Class 3A Division 1 State Championship

BRYAN, Texas -- The Rockdale football team beat Brock 45-29 Thursday afternoon at AT&T Stadium to win the Class 3A Division 1 State Championship. It is Rockdale's first State Title since 1976.

The Tiger were down 21-0 with 11:22 left in the second quarter but they controlled the rest of the game. Rockdale scored 28 points in the second quarter to lead 28-21 at halftime. The Tigers scored 45 unanswered points in the game.

Tiger quarterback Torry Locklin threw for 202 yards and one touchdown. He ran for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Locklin also caught a touchdown pass. Rockdale wide receiver Jaquayln Crawford caught two passes for 82 yards and a touchdown. The Oklahoma Sooner signee also ran for 57 yards and one touchdown. Crawford also threw a touchdown pass.

Locklin was named the Offensive MVP of the game. Crawford was named the Defensive MVP. He had five tackled and a forced fumble.
