ROCKDALE, Texas -- Rockdale wide receiver and defensive back Jaquayln Crawford signed a letter of intent with the University of Oklahoma Wednesday afternoon.
Crawford has caught 54 passes this season for 698 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 658 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Crawford's decision to sign with Oklahoma will give him a chance to play for a Sooner program that will be in this year's college football playoff. Crawford said, "When you talk about the University of Oklahoma you know you are going to play from something every year. When I committed I knew that and that was something big for me." Crawford added, "I wanted to go to a school where I would play and play for championships whether it be Big 12 or National. I know they get a lot of attention and rightfully so and that's really a big reason why I picked them as well."
Crawford and his Tiger teammates will play in the Class 3A Division 1 State Championship game Thursday afternoon against Brock. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00pm at AT&T Stadium.
