After 15 years as a part of the Bryan Police Department, his colleagues and community members bid Assistant Chief Peter Scheets farewell this afternoon.

As we told you about a couple weeks ago, he's on his way to Hutto to become the chief in that city of about 30,000 near Austin.

While his last day on the job at BPD was back on December 23rd, today was the farewell reception.

Scheets has served as a patrolman, a detective, a patrol sergeant and a supervisor among his many duties with the department.
