A&M Consolidated High School student Kensen Shi won top honors in Austin at the regional finals of the prestigious Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology, the nation's premier research competition for high school students.
Shi won a $3,000 scholarship and will advance to the National Finals in Washington D.C. for a shot at the $100,000 Grand Prize.
The young computer scientist developed a new method to help robots navigate. Shi aspires to become a professor and researcher in computer science.
